Company PALMA is a duo of women comedian jugglers. Isandria Fermiano and Renata Nascimento, since 2014 they have been in 3 different continents, South America, Europe and Asia participating in events and street art festivals.
Juggling, balancing and comedy are the research techniques developed by the duo. The show Second Try was presented in countries like Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Malaysia among others. One unmissable spectacle that delights the audience of all ages. Another company project is Pé de Vela – art and sustainability. Contemplated by the Cultural Entrepreneur Prize – 3rd Edition 2017 in Brazil and by the project Apadrina un/a Artista of ARTmosfera – Residencia Artistica Rural in 2020 in Spain. This project arises to share artistic experiences and spaces for socializing and dialogue about urban life, conscious consumption and organic food. The show Pé de Vela is in creation process, with the premiere scheduled
for 2023. The first show of the duo was The Once in the hat, toured in small villages and communities
in the states of Bahia, Alagoas and Pernambuco in Brazil. In 2016 made summer season in Europe, in the countries of Italy and Croatia.
🟣The Residence at the Mini Art Center is an important time/space for the development of the Pé de Vela spectacle.
Therefore, we are investigating different countries and human relationships with ecological actions.
With this +30 days residency at the Mini Art Center will allow us to immerse ourselves in the rehearsals of the spectacle, the technical development of juggling, and the exchange with local artists. In comparison to other performances of ours, with this new performance our goal is to create a spectacle where communication happens through juggling, physical actions, and soundtrack.
Transformation of the verbal language of the spectacle to the physical and sensory language.
We look forward to present our work-in-progress performance in Sofia late November/start December,
to hear the feedback of Bulgarian artists and the public.

PÉ DE VELA
Continue researching the Pé de Vela juggling show. Through the development of the script and creation of the scenes.
Exploring the scenic language of juggling and theater, in addition to the creation of
characters that will give a new form to the show.
Another objective of this residency is to investigate the types of sustainable
actions that exist in Sofia, as well as to know whether or not traditional seeds are
used by food producers.
In the first phase of the Pé de Vela – Art and Sustainability project, the
following activities were developed:
Circus Show, Exchange of Traditional Seeds, Bike Ride, and Theater and Circus Workshops.
This project was awarded the “Cultural Entrepreneur Award – 3rd Edition” in 2017, in Brazil.
The artists traveling 07 cities of the project by bicycle, for reducing the impact on the environment.
During the execution of the project, the need to change activities arose.
The new proposal is:
Juggling Show, Exchange of Traditional Seeds and the Creation of a
Scenario-Installation with recyclable objects.
The show Pé de Vela has been undergoing renovation since 2020, when Cia
PALMA was selected for the Rural Artistic Residency, in the project “Apadrina un
Artista” from ARTmosfera, in Spain.
Pé de Vela has an original soundtrack by Carina Levitan and Guilherme Ceron.
Renewing the Pé de Vela is putting into practice the artists’ experiences with the
performing arts, bicycle trips, and dialogue with the “Seed Guardians”.
Creating an environment for multiplying ideas, and promoting a space for
learning about sustainable practices through playfulness.
During the Pé de Vela residencies and activities, the artists observe and
interact with the surroundings, seeking to deepen the project’s research and inspire
and share sustainable ideas.
The Pé de Vela’s show is able to transform its spectators into pollinators of
sustainable actions. In other editions of this project, we have already had positive
feedback from the influence of our proposal. Through the use of reusable bags and
the bicycle as a means of transport. Also, the mini-bicycle that generates energy,
which encourages children, young people, and adults to sustainable practices in
everyday life.
