Handstand & Circus Acrobatics
Turn your world upside down
Think it would be cool to be able to do a handstand? Or can you already do one but want to improve your technique or try out new shapes? We’re here to help! Did you know…Not only does standing on your hands build core and upper body strength, it also stimulates your endocrine system by increasing blood flow to your head.
This helps to boost your metabolism as well as reducing stress hormones. It can also improve your proprioception leading to better balance and spatial perception… an all-round win!
TUESDAY 19:00 – 20:00
Unicycling for Beginners & Intermediates
Our coach is a world-class unicyclist and experienced in delivering unicycle courses for any skill level.
This beginner course is designed and run by experts and accredited by Sofia Unicycle Club, so you can be safe in the knowledge you’ll be getting the best training available. Unicycling works the calf muscles. Defining your calf muscles is a big bonus when you are trying to gain strength and develop a buff body. As you strive and develop balance on the unicycle, it also tones your core muscles. Proper strengthening of the core muscles often improves overall wellness.
Great exercise, Unicycling can make you a better bike rider, its great fun. We have warm-up and stretching in each class.
You will learn how to mount and ride a unicycle freely, get good knowledge in riding slaloms, figure 8, circles/spins and turns, IUF Skill levels, jump onto pallets, ride in pair and group formations. Take part in cycling parades in Sofia town, mountain cycling trips and races. Only you set the limits!!
SUNDAY 15:00 – 17:00
Mixed Circus
JUGGLING
is a surprisingly tough workout, and is great for developing coordination.
There have also been numerous studies on the benefits to the brain of learning to juggle. And it’s a pretty awesome party trick!
Once you’ve mastered the basics, juggling with a partner and learning passing tricks is great fun.
We can teach you to juggle balls, clubs, rings, flower-stick and much more.
Don’t worry if you don’t pick it up as quickly as someone else does – we all progress at our own pace and it just means you’re exercising your brain more!
TRAPEZE
If you’ve never tried aerial arts before then we’d recommend trapeze as a great starting point for building the strength that aerials require. The bar gives you a place to stop for a rest, and there are some fun moves we can try with the ropes too!
“Don’t let the fear of falling keep you from flying”
The two broad disciplines in trapeze are swinging and static. Our classes are in a form of static trapeze, which means we let the trapeze hang straight down without swinging on it. We focus on making shapes on the equipment and moving through sequences, gradually building your skills as you get stronger and more confident.
ROLLA BOLLA
Equilibristic discipline, a classic circus prop. Great for developing balance. Once you got the hang of it you can start working on other tricks.
SLACK-LINE
The key to a good life is to have balance and what better way to test your skills than walking along a suspended length of flat webbing tensioned between two anchors, also known as slacklining. If you’ve never heard of slacklining or would just like a few extra tips,
come to our mixed circus classes and get started!
Slacklining helps with focus and stabilization muscles of the hips, knees and ankles. Not to forget to mention, it’s also super fun!
ROLLING / BALANCE GLOBE
The walking globe is a circus skill in which a performer balances atop a large sphere. Various gymnastic or juggling stunts may be performed while the performer moves and controls the position of the ball with their feet and/or hands.
